The Korean language and culture program in the Department of Asian Languages and Civilizations offers a wide range of language, literature, cinema and civilization courses. Our language program provides students with three years of coursework, including elementary, intermediate, and advanced Korean. Other courses may include Korean Civilization, Modern Korean Literature in Translation, and Film and Korean Culture. The courses will provide students the opportunity to comprehensively explore both traditional and contemporary, and North and South Korean language, literature, society and culture.

The Department encourages its students to spend either an academic year or a semester abroad, though there are summer options as well. There are study abroad programs available for all levels of Korean. Detailed information can be found here.
