ALC MA Student Summer Funding is for current MA students in the department. Applications should include a brief description of how funding will be used and rationale, along with a proposed budget if applicable. Examples may include but are not limited to funding for travel to a conference, dedicated time for research and/or writing to progress in their degree or studying another language.

Eligibility Requirements: All continuing MA students in good academic standing who are or will be registered for the subsequent fall semester are eligible to apply.

Timeline: A call for applications is sent out in November. Applications should be sent to dalc@colorado.edu. The deadline for application submission is March 1. Funding will be distributed no later than April 1.  

Review Process/Award Criteria: A departmental committee will review applications and allocate funding based on overall quality of the proposal. The following may be taken into consideration when awarding: prominence of event/conference, importance of project to student’s professional development, student’s academic standing, and appropriateness of proposed budget.

Amount: Individual distributions will be between $500 and $2000. A total of $6000 will be awarded to MA students in Spring 2023.  

Confirmation: Prior to start of the fall semester, students should submit a brief one-page summary of activities supported by the award and their outcomes to dalc@colorado.edu, who will then forward to the committee.
